Over the past 12 years or so we have had marvellous times travelling with our u3a friends.
We have been as far away as Peru. In Europe; Sicily, France, Christmas Markets, Spain, Italy, Croatia and closer to home; Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Yorkshire.
2024 We’re going 0n a tour of Montenegro: Budva, Cetinje and the Bay of Kotor
The tour is for 8 days/ 7 nights. Leave St Austell on 9 October; Fly 10 October; return on 17 October.
Day 1 – Travel and settle into hotel
Day 2 – Budva tour with local guide followed by wine tasting at
Sipcanik wine cellar.
Day 3 – Into the Lovcen National Park in the mountains. Then
on to Cetinje the old royal capital and a visit to the Royal
Palace of King Nikola.
Day 4 – Out to STARI BAR, a fortified town; then onto the
Albanian birder town of SHKODER.
Day 5 – The BAY OF KOTOR, the marketing Venetian
fortifications. Onto nearby Perast.
Day 6 – The entire day to further explore Budva; perhaps visit
the monasteries; the bronze ballerina; churches.
Day 7 – OSTROG monastery, set 900 metres in the cliff above
the valley; fresc and mosaics; then onto Lake Skader for a
cruise.
Day 8 – Return home.
The HOTEL is currently the HOTEL AMI classed as a 4 star
Superior. At the hotel we will have breakfast daily and 4
evening meals on days 1,4,5 and 7.
The price quoted is:
Double Full Balcony is £1199 pp; Twin room with balcony is £1199 pp.
Double deluxe Seaview full Balcony an extra £89 per person.
There are No single rooms available.
To these prices will have to be added the coach cost to Gatwick
and a night at the Premier Inn, approx £120 to £150 per
person.

2022 We have toured Madeira. We travelled by coach to Gatwick Airport on the 20 March, stayed overnight at a Premier Inn and then left for the tour from 21-28 March. You can view photographs from our trip HERE.
2016 saw 6 off to Morocco, via Milan and Barcelona by train and flying back from Casablanca. Another 20+ of us went to Croatia end of September
2017 a group of 20 of us went to Scotland. Flying to Edinburgh from Exeter and having stays/trips to Garve, Inverness, Tain, Isle of Skye, Oban, Glasgow, and we flew back to Exeter where our coach met us to bring us back to St Austell.
2018 and we went off to North Cyprus (Turkish part) going later in the year so not too hot.
2019 and we went to Portugal, a cultural tour The Pousades of Portugal you can see on Mercury Holidays website.
We already have 21 members who are travelling. The cost for the Madeira part is £1079 per person in a doubleroom(+ £189 sole occupancy) . This includes all breakfasts in Madeira and 4 buffet dinners. The cost of the coach and overnight stay in Gatwick will be around £150. If you are interested, please use the contact form below.
Our meetings are when necessary, but always announced at the monthly meetings.
We are happy for you to come to a Coffee Morning or one main Monthly Meeting and to attend one individual group (with the exception of groups that require pre-booking and ticket purchases) before deciding whether to join St Austell u3a.
