GROUP CONVENOR – Mark Stephenson
The first meeting of this group will be on November 19th.
The Debating Group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in the Assembly Room at St Austell Arts Centre from 11.00 – 13.00, to debate a particular question.
The type of questions discussed might follow a variety of subjects. For example, it could be a more philosophical question such as “Is Beauty skin deep?” or “Is there such a thing as free will?”
Alternatively, we could debate a question like, “Is AI a good or bad thing?” or something more political such as, “Should we withdraw from European Court of Human Rights?”
We are happy for you to come to a Coffee Morning or one main Monthly Meeting and to attend one individual group (with the exception of groups that require pre-booking and ticket purchases) before deciding whether to join St Austell u3a.
