Folk Music Group

GROUP CONVENOR – Maryanne Thomas

As this is a new group the first couple of sessions will be a mixture of making music and finding out what  everyone wants from the group.

We meet at 2.00 pm until 5.00 pm on the third Monday of the month at the Rescorla Centre PL26 8YT off the B3374

We envisage it being a bit of a jam session with everyone joining in with the songs they know and some people doing a party piece. You do not need to be able to play an instrument or sing beautifully, what you should be is interested in traditional and folk music including English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish as well as American folk and of course Cornish but this is not an exclusive list.If playing please try to keep performance pieces to a maximum of 3-4 minutes to enable as many  pieces to be enjoyed during the session.

We are happy for you to come to a Coffee Morning or one main Monthly Meeting and to attend one individual group (with the exception of groups that require pre-booking and ticket purchases) before deciding whether to join St Austell u3a.

Please always contact the group convenor to ensure the session is going ahead.

There will be tea and coffee available and you are welcome to bring an alcoholic drink if you wish.
