Petanque/Boules 2

GROUP CONVENOR – Richard Ash

Petanque is essentially a form of Boule, played by the French and Spanish in their town squares.

Teams of 2/3 or 4 players. Each match lasts about 35 minutes. It is very social and has a competitive element. You don’t need to be fit, there is a bit of bending to pick up the Boules, but that is all.

We play at Tregony Social Club which you will need to join if you play on a long term basis. (£5 for seniors, £10 for regular members although this is waived for 2022).

There’s also a social element to playing and when conditions allow players may have lunch or have a drink afterwards. Currently picnics are allowed at the club as food is not available regularly. Hot and cold drinks are available.

Directions from St Austell:- on B3287 enter Tregony. R turn to St Cuby’s Church, signed “Playing Fields” L into Back Lane and the Club is on the R about 100 yards on. Parking available. Map
